Dear All,

There is a brand new RNLI Festive run this year taking place at Dudley Castle and Zoo.

We have a 10k, 5k and 1k (1k is just for under15’s) on offer from 10am onwards on Sunday 5th December.

I have attached a poster and entry form for any runners who would like to take part and below is a link to register online for the 10k and 5k runs as well as a Santa Saunter for those who like a more relaxed pace.

Cardiff AAC’s James MILLS was the first athlete across the finish line today, Saturday 25th September 2010. He completed the course in 16:09 and posted an age grade score of 79.88%. The first female athlete to cross the line was Charlie GREEN in a time of 18:42 posting an age grade score of 79.14%.

Half Marathon Workshops


University of Birmingham SPORT are running 2 workshops on half marathon training and preparation which your members may be interested in attending. The first is THIS THURSDAY!!! 9th September 2010

Our speakers include accredited sport scientists, Commonwealth Games athletes and UKA Endurance Coach Bud Baldaro!

We’ll be covering topics from training , nutrition, preventing injury and psychology in an ‘open floor’ format – so bring your questions along for the panel.

The first female athlete to cross the line was Alchester RC’s Jennifer MCBAIN in a time of 19:44 posting an age grade score of 75.34%.

Park Run – Solihull


I went along to the third Park Run at Brueton Park, Solihull this morning to have a look at what goes on and to take a few photos. Brueton Park is a beautiful park and ideal for these relaxed, free, 5k runs that are intended for all ages and abilities. Over 50 runners took part beating the showers and all having a good time. Volunteers are sought after, so anyone willing to give up a few hours of their time are welcome. Please see the website at http://www.parkrun.org.uk/brueton/

Knowle and Dorridge Running Club’s Jonathan JENNINGS was the first athlete across the finish line today. He completed the course in 16:40 and posted an age grade score of 83.80%. The first female athlete to cross the line was Knowle and Dorridge Running Club’s Katie BANERJEE in a time of 20:07 posting an age grade score of 74.98%.
