Yesterday the track & field championships took place at Leicester and the full set of results will be available very shortly.
The weather was kind for most of the day marred only by a downpour during the last half an hour.
Irene, Margaret and Edgar worked tirelessly in the background on the results and my thanks go to them for remaining calm when being pressurised to get the results out quickly so that Bernie & I could present the medals. Quite a few British records were set and all these require paperwork to be generated, additional work for the results team. Can I also thank the competitors who by and large were very patient in waiting for the results to be confirmed before collecting their medals.
Thanks also to our guest entrants some of whom travelled a fair way to get to Leicester and with no chance of picking up a reward but who all provided that extra bit of competition for our members.

Hi Tom
Do you know the closing date for the BMAF
Track and field Champs as nowhere on their website do they let anyone know.
2 people have tried to find it without success and have phoned me.
(Neither have they put it in their magazine.)
Can you help?
Dave
I believe the closing date to be the 13th June 2011. I assume that this would be shown on the online entry system once the athlete has registered but this is a guess. Maurice Doogan has set this system up and should be notified of any problems.
Hardeep, Go to http://www.midlandmasters.org.uk/ our official website. Here you can download an application form to join. You have to be 35 years or older. Also look at the British Masters website http://www.bmaf.org.uk/ for more details. Any further queries I would be happy to answer if I can. Email mmac.sec@blueyonder.co.uk
