 British Masters Open 10K Track Run + Walks Championships

Horspath Athletics Track, Horspath Road, Oxford, OX4 2RR.

ATHLETES INSTRUCTIONS

REGISTRATION

On arrival, collect numbers and any other information from Registration/Declaration, on First Floor of the Changing Rooms Block, accessed by both internal and external staircases. Desk opens 09.30 am.

DECLARATION

Having arrived you MUST DECLARE 45 MINUTES BEFORE YOUR EVENT, which will be done by picking up your number. Failure to do so will mean you will be EXCLUDED from the event.

 

NUMBERS

Must be worn as issued, on your front and back in all events.

REPORTING

All athletes should report to the Athletes Assembly, 10 MINUTES before start of their event. The Assembly area is north of Start Line.

WARMING UP

Use only the track behind the competition section of each series of races, keeping the area just in front of the Start line clear.

PLEASE BE AWARE OF THE EVENTS IN THE DECATHLON/HEPTATHLON THAT ARE ALSO TAKING PLACE AND GIVE THOSE AREAS A WIDE BERTH.

CLUB COLOURS

Competitors must compete in the colours of their UKA Club, Masters/Veteran Area Club or National Kit under which they entered with the addition of appropriate shorts. If inappropriately dressed, you will not be allowed to compete.

GENERAL

            All mobile phones carried adjacent to the track side must be switched off or in mute mode.

No unauthorised persons will be allowed onto the centre of the track.

The decision of the referee’s shall be final.

No personal stereos or similar equipment will be allowed to be used within the competition area.

PARKING

            There is ample parking just off the Horspath Road, to the south of the Track, but please park with consideration for others.

CATERING

            There is a tea bar within the Registration/Declaration Room. Hot and cold drinks will be served throughout the day, together with the normal snacks and sandwiches and some limited hot food. The food however will be limited, as the normal catering staff are on holiday, so we have a volunteer not use to the Kitchen arrangement, so please bear with her. Otherwise it is a Superstore 2 MILES away.

DIRECTIONS

            The Track is just off the Eastern section of the Oxford Ring Road. It is 2 miles south of the junction of the A40/A4142, when coming down the long slope you turn left, just before the BMW Works, into Horspath Road. It is 3 miles east of the junction of the A34/A4142, when about to pass beyond the BMW Works, you turn right across the A4142, into Horspath Road. Half a mile down Horspath Road, just after the end of the factory units, the track appears on your left.
