Cross Country 2019

Please find below the results from Midland Masters Cross Country Championships 2019, incorporated within the Derby Runner Midland Cross Country Champs at Newbold Comyn on 26th Jan. A particularly breezy day and a proper gruelling course with hills, mud and a ditch:

MMAC Cross Country – Women Age Group Positions

MMAC Cross Country – Men Age Group Positions

MMAC Cross Country – Women Age graded results

MMAC Cross Country – Men Age graded results

It was a tough battle. In the Mens, Tim Hartley just took the top place from fastest Man and clubmate, Alastair Watson. With 3rd to 5th going to Jason Willliams, John Knibb and Johnny Cullen  In the Mens team it was a win for Wolverhampton & Bilston with there top 4 being Dave Smith, Mark Homer, David Norman and Daniel Brazier. With no other club having 4 runners it was a battle between the W&B 6 entrants for the prizes!
The Womens age related race was a battle between the top 3 in the womens 50 race and Wendy Roethenbaugh just edged Jenny Jeaves and Fee Maycock. Jenny did have the consolation of being in the winning team, while not 4 runners they were the largest team. Kelly Edwards the fastest women and Carol Blower competed in the Leamington team. Fourth and fifth were Mandy Vernon and Penelope Barber
Vouchers, redeemable at Derby Runner, will be awarded to all those top 5 in the  age grades and the team winners mentioned above and certificates are awarded to everyone in the top 3 in their age group.
Derby Runner are based at Spondon but are at many events, including the Burton 10 Mile race in May which will be the MMAC 10 mile championship.
