Milton Keynes Marathon 2012 – Mozilla Firefox http://ow.ly/5rKRY
The time is right, next year, British Olympic Year, sees a major new marathon come to Milton Keynes.
This is a city marathon with a difference. With 4,500 acres of woodlands, lakesides, parks and landscaped areas within the city boundary, Milton Keynes is the ideal venue for a Green Marathon.
The course is traffic free on closed roads and cycle paths or “redways” as they are known locally and without any significant incline there is real PB potential for all participants.

Congratulations to all Midland Masters members who completed the marathon yesterday under difficult conditions. Well done.
A summary of their results appears on the London Marathon Page at http://bit.ly/faVmQO
I’ve only just found out the confusion on how many legs are to be run for the M35-44 & M45-54 age groups.
The entry form said 4 legs but the Newsletter said 3 legs for the M45-54 and I didn’t spot it. Therefore some Clubs have entered 4 athletes and some 3. The decision has been made to keep to the M35-44 as 4 legs and the M45-54 as 3 legs, this avoids teams turning up with a runner short.
We are trying to keep to the BMAF 10 year age groups and the changes have caused some confusion.
Apologies for this error and I hope that it doesn’t spoil your participation.
One final appeal…. please do your best to attend the AGM after the presentation of prizes for the relays.
Volunteers RequiredIt’s that time of year again!! After our own Road Relays that take place this coming weekend, I have to start thinking of the BMAF National Open Road Relays at Sutton Park on the 21st May. Here we have to supply a bare minimum of 11 marshals. There are two races, am & pm, so if some marshals can only do one race then potentially I need 22 people.
If any of you that intend to be at Sutton Park but cannot run, then please consider helping out with the marshalling, even if it’s for only one race.
All details on where to sign in etc. will be sent to you beforehand and there will be a subsistence allowance paid. Some marshals will be required to have a radio so that contact can be made with the race start. These are easy to operate, so don’t be afraid!
If you feel that you will be able to help then please contact me by email on mmac.sec@blueyonder.co.uk
With only a week to go all the hard work should have been put in, so an easy week ahead!
Can I wish all the members who were successful in gaining a Club place this year the very best of luck for the big day. I hope all goes well with no problems and hope you all have a stress free pre-race week. In addition to the 5 members who were lucky for a Club place after being rejected, I’m sure we will have many who will be representing their UKA Clubs. If you let me know I will endeavor to recognize you on the results page http://bit.ly/faVmQO

I’ll be busy at our relays and AGM but will record the marathon to watch later. I shall be looking closely for the MMAC Club Vests, white with the vertical red stripe. Run well and achieve your goals.

So why not circulate the league calendar around your membership giving them plenty of time to get their entries in.
We hope to generate as much interest as we can by keeping the new scoring system up to date on the website where your members can clearly see their positions in the league.
Good luck to everyone and may the best woman/man/teams win.
