Colin Simpson Handicap Run


Just a reminder that the closing date to enter the Colin Simpson Handicap run is this Friday, 24th January. Please enter if you can, this is a very friendly & sociable event over a pleasant course with prizes for the handicap winner, fastest actual male and female times and three fastest handicap times.

The race isincorporated within Centurion Grand Prix Series. To be held at John Henry Newman Catholic College, Chelmsley Wood, B37 5GA.

To enter the handicap, unless you have already submitted a Centurion entry form & payment, please use the entry form below:

Over 35s who have already entered the series, or the February race, can enter the handicap at no extra cost providing handicap details are sent before the closing date (no on-the-day entries for the handicap!).

Non MMAC members, who are 35 or over, may enter but will not be eligible to win the Colin Simpson Memorial Handicap Trophy.

MMAC Cross Country Champs 2020


Happy New Year to all our members!

Just a reminder that the closing date for MMAC Cross Country Championships 2020 is this Wednesday, 8th Jan. The championship will be incorporated within the Derby Runner Midland Cross Country Champs at Prestwold Hall, Loughborough on Saturday 25th Jan, Details at Midland Cross Country Championships. There will be no extra charge on top of £9 to enter the Mid Champs through your UK club. 1st claim MMAC competitors will need to pay the fee of £9, please email grahamlamb@gmail.com.

It may be that M65+ will be able to run in the shorter 8k race, this is to be confirmed.

We hope to be able to award age winner medals on the day but awards to the top age related male and female team ( 3 in a team ) will be worked out later.

You must have paid /renewed your MMAC membership by 20th Jan to take part in the MMAC XC Champs!

Inter Area Outdoors 2019

England Masters Outdoor Inter Area Challenge


Midland Masters emerged triumphant (pending verification of results) at England Athletics Masters Outdoor Inter Area Challenge at Coventry yesterday. Both the women and the men won their competitions giving us a win overall! Many congratulations and thanks to all of the athletes, our wonderful Team Manager Elaine, hard working officials officials and helpers who made this an enjoyable and successful event. Results to follow, some of the participants in the triumphant team, W50 relay team and a very happy Team Manager are pictured below:

 

 

MMAC Track & Field Championships Results


The results from last Sunday’s, 9th June, Midland Masters Track & Field Championships at Nuneaton are now up on the website at Track & Field 2019

A breezy warm day saw a number of Championship Best Performances set and a British Record for M60 javelin thrower, Kevin Murch.

Thank you to all of the officials, helpers and athletes who made this another successful and enjoyable event.

 

MMAC T&F and 10 mile Champs

MMAC T&F Champs Programme 2019

We are hoping for conducive weather and look forward to seeing you all there and watching some great performances!

The results of the recent MMAC 10 mile Championships (incorporated into the Burton 10) have now gone up on the website at 10 Mile Road 2019. Well done to all of the winners!

And, note that the date for the England Masters Athletics inter area is Saturday 6th July (NOT Sunday 7th as previously advertised!) at Coventry. Please contact Elaine Mee  elaineamee@gmail.com if you are interested in filling any gaps.

10 mile Champs and Parkruns


There are just two days left (closing 15th May) to enter the MMAC 10 Mile Championship within the Burton 10 taking place on the 19th May. We have at least 20 members entered so far. You can enter from your membership page on bmaf.opentrack.run.
After our foray into Parkrun tourism at Rosliston Parkrun we are now looking to visit the Walsall Arboretum Park Run on the 25th May which is a fast three lap 5K course Certified by the Association of UK Course Measurers, run on all road surfaces with in the Arboretum. The Age graded Record Holder is our own Dot Fellows 101.52% in the 70-75 category. There are good parking, toilets, café and changing and shower faculties, you will be made very welcome as it is known as a friendly Park Run.

We are looking for a Parkrun to visit on 22nd or 29th June, so if you will be running one on those dates, why not suggest your local run for a visit.
We will visit Perry Hall Parkrun, suggested by Lesley Pymm, on 13th July

MMAC 47th AGM Rosliston


Many thanks to those who attended the 47th AGM of Midland Masters Athletic Club at Rosliston on Saturday – it was a well attended meeting and was great to see everyone!

Thanks especially to Jill Lamb for providing more than ample very tasty refreshments!

Well done to all of those who completed to Rosliston Parkrun, on the first of our parkrun tour venues, prior to the meeting. MMAC winners were:

7th Peter Wright 19:49 Also 1st MMAC Man, also 1st M55 overall
8th Tracey Hinxman 20:07 1st MMAC Woman (and first woman overall) W45
33rd Angela Copson 23:48 1st MMAC Age Graded, 1st W70 overall, 3rd woman overall
Mick Smedley, 19th and first M70 overall, and Angela set their age records for Rosliston
