Membership Renewal Due!

The opentrack system has now got the functionality to allow renewal of MMAC membership for 2022. If you log on to bmaf.opentrack.run, go to your athletes profile, click on memberships and you should see a button to renew. 2022 fees return to £15 for 2nd claim and £31 for 1st claim members, with a supplement of £10 for those who want the postal newsletter.

If you use Safari on an Apple Mac you might find you have problems updating your membership. Try Google Chrome or Firefox as alternatives.

Just a reminder the MMAC cross country championships will be held inside the Midlands Championships which is at Berry Hill Park, Mansfield on Saturday 29th January 2022.

You can enter at race-results.co.uk  , go to 2022 fixtures. Entries close on  Friday 14th January 2022.

You will need to have renewed your membership to be in the MMAC championships. Entries will be cross checked against the membership list and a list of who is taking part published before the race. There is no extra charge to also be in the MMAC championships.

We have again got agreement that the MMAC  M65 age group upwards race will be over 8k inside the senior women’s race, some older members may have been put off by the cut off time in the seniors men 12k race, hopefully this will attract more from the age group to compete. M65  MMAC members will be contacted to check if they do want to take part in the 8k race, as a few may still prefer to run in the 12k Seniors race and not take part in the M65+ MMAC race.

10 mile results and upcoming fixtures…

Results from the MMAC Championships held at Rugby on 3-10-21 have now been uploaded to the MMAC website. Considering the clash with the resurrected London Marathon, 11 MMAC runners made it out of the 16 entered and the M55 category provided a ‘full house’. Many congratulations to the winners, results can be viewed on the website at:

Dates for Diary…

We are currently working to produce a special newsletter to celebrate our 50th year of formation.

MMAC 50th Anniversary Celebrations

MMAC Track & Field Champs – 6 June Nuneaton

Entries are now open for the MMAC Track and Field Championship on the 6th June at Nuneaton.

We are using the entry4sports system as this operates well at Nuneaton and can provide online results very quickly.
We have initially opened this only to MMAC members until Wednesday after which other BMAF area members can enter..

The entry system allows MMAC entry by checking your EA  number against the EA portal and sees if you have 1st or 2nd claim membership, you can reflect 2nd claim membership in your profile on the entry4sports site.
UK Entry4Sports | office@entry4sports.com

We have based the program on the last championships and so it is a provisional timetable. Depending on the entries in the different age groups, it is likely to change.  Certainly the composition of the age groups in the throwing pools may need to change. The numbers of entries can be increased in most events, except the walk..

We have a few potential clashes of events but we will look at those in more detail when we close the entries.
For all field events except high jump and pole vault there will be 4 trials only.

Medals will be awarded to the first 3 MMAC members in each 5yr age group ,   BMAF Members will also receive medals if they finish in the first 3

We will close entries on the 2nd June and entry for each event is £7.70.

We would like to thank Nick and Nuneaton for their support and also Wendy Kane, Elaine Mee and Cheryl Devonish who have started to take on a lot of the work organising the event since they took on their new roles at the AGM.

Thank you to those who were able to attend the Midland Masters 49th AGM this morning, it was good to see everyone again and to welcome some new faces.

The meeting went very smoothly, though we had received the sad news regarding the passing on of BMAF’s Maurice Doogan who will be sadly missed by MMAC members who may remember him for his lengthy, but ever helpful, pre-event emails. A tribute to Maurice can be read on the BMAF website at Maurice Doogan. September 1939-April 2021 – BMAF – British Masters Athletic Federation.

We have many familiar faces retaining previous roles, and also a couple moving to new, plus new faces elected to the committee for which we are most appreciative. We are going forward positively with fingers-crossed that 2021 will see ‘live’ competition back on the schedule again – this is the premise at the moment with dates in the diary (the fixtures page will be updated shortly) to look forward to.

We have the facility at Nuneaton booked for the MMAC Track & Field Championships on 6 June and also for our 50th Anniversary celebration on 12th September – starting with the Nuneaton 10k as this year’s MMAC 10k Championships – with the track & field at our disposal there should be something for everybody – save the date!

We will post the AGM minutes up on the website in due course and we look forward to seeing many of your again in 2021.

A reminder that it is the Midland Masters Athletic Club AGM tomorrow. Please join us if you can – this is a very important event in the MMAC diary anabling you to play an active part and take part in decision making.

The committee very much welcomes familiar faces and new blood so please get out for your Sunday morning runs a little earlier, grab yourself a cuppa and log on (in plenty of time – 10 mins or so early in case of problems) for the start of the AGM at 11am. We look forward to seeing you there!

Joining instructions are at:
