You will need to have renewed your membership to be in the MMAC championships. Entries will be cross checked against the membership list and a list of who is taking part published before the race. There is no extra charge to also be in the MMAC championships.
We have again got agreement that the MMAC M65 age group upwards race will be over 8k inside the senior women’s race, some older members may have been put off by the cut off time in the seniors men 12k race, hopefully this will attract more from the age group to compete. M65 MMAC members will be contacted to check if they do want to take part in the 8k race, as a few may still prefer to run in the 12k Seniors race and not take part in the M65+ MMAC race.
Results from the MMAC Championships held at Rugby on 3-10-21 have now been uploaded to the MMAC website. Considering the clash with the resurrected London Marathon, 11 MMAC runners made it out of the 16 entered and the M55 category provided a ‘full house’. Many congratulations to the winners, results can be viewed on the website at:
The closing date for the BMAF Cross Country Relays is 20th October, the relays will be held at Long Eaton on the 30th October. These are open relays, so the teams do not need to be BMAF members.
It has 10 year age groups. The m35+ and m45+ have 5 in a team, m55+, 4 in a team for m65 & m75 its 3 in a team as it is for w35,w45,w55,w65.
In addition besides the BMAF chance of medals , there will also be medals for MMAC teams. To qualify for a MMAC medal at least one of the team, who runs, should be a MMAC member.
Team entries can be completed here: SportSoft Race Results – 2021 (race-results.co.uk)
On the road the 5k and 10K BMAF championships are on opentrack to enter. The 5K is at Nelson, Lancashire on 7/11 and the 10K at Gravesend on 21/11.
Once again we will have our MMAC Cross Country Championships inside the Midlands Cross Country Championships. We have also got agreement that the M65+ can run in the shorter distance race with the women. More on that when entries open.
We are currently working to produce a special newsletter to celebrate our 50th year of formation.
We would like to thank everyone – organisers, officials, athletes and helpers who made our Midland Masters 50th Anniversary Celebrations last Sunday such an enjoyable and successful event.
The day kicked off with the MMAC 10k Championships, run within the Nuneaton 10k, well done and thank you to all who arose early in the morning and took part.
We then moved to the track at Pingles Stadium where we held the less usual track event distances, some field events and the, always good fun, wellie wanging. Thank you so much for supporting the events and joining in either as a competitor, supporter or official.
Results from both the 10k and the track and field events can be found at MMAC 50th Anniversary Results.
