Torch Relay
We are still short of runners to take part in our Torch Relay to celebrate our 40th Anniversary year. This will take place on the 30th September 2012, starting at the Halesowen running track. The more we have, the better because runners can then run in pairs or groups. The destination is Tamworth. Full details from John Walker and anyone interested should in the first instance contact John on 07831592327 as soon as possible. Please leave a voice message and John will get back to you.
Bill Aston now running in the Stars
It is sad to announce the death of Bill Aston, Halesowen A & CC, who passed peacefully away at home on the 17th August 2012 after a long illness. His wife, Betty and his sons Nick and Dave were at his side.
Bill first joined Midland Veterans AC in 1976 and was member number 120. He latterly served on the committee as the Road and Cross Country Secretary and was a keen supporter of all our events. He was due to become the President in 2010/2011 but had to decline due to his illness but he was awarded the President’s Trophy for services to the Club in 2010 by the outgoing President, Margaret Simpson.
Our sincere condolences go to his wife and all the family.
The funeral will take place at 11.00am on Monday, 3rd September 2012 at:-

Torch Relay to celebrate the MMAC 40th Anniversary
As part of the 40th Anniversary Celebrations, John Walker, our Road/XC Secretary, is organising a ‘Torch Relay’ from our birthplace at Halesowen to Tamworth where we are holding our celebrations. John is hoping that the whole relay (not a race) can 
be run in pairs for safety reasons and currently we are short of runners. The total distance will be in the region of 26 – 30 miles and will start at around 9.00 am from Halesowen and is aimed to finish with a lap of the track at Tamworth Athletics Stadium.
So, we are after volunteers to run to make this venture a success. Please contact John Walker on 07831592327 and leave a message if necessary stating the minimum distance you would like to run and John will contact you with all the details. Let’s make this venture, which is part of our celebrations, a total success….. contact John Walker NOW.
MMAC 10k Road Championships

The MMAC 10k Road Championships
The Wilne 10k is being used by MMAC as our 10k Road Championships. It takes place on Sunday, 2nd September 2012 and all entries should be on the special entry form for these Championships. Full details are on our 10k Championships page at http://tinyurl.com/cjwr2lp
To clarify the situation with regards to team entries, the MMAC Team awards are for teams of 3 across ALL age groups in the 10 year age bands i.e. 35-44; 45-54; 55-64 etc. both male & female. 
If you wish to down age so that you can complete a team, you must circle the appropriate age at the bottom of the form. This is so that the information can be entered into the system. You do not have to declare teams on the day but if you are in the wrong category, you may not be counted.
