MMAC 49th AGM

Thank you to those who were able to attend the Midland Masters 49th AGM this morning, it was good to see everyone again and to welcome some new faces.

The meeting went very smoothly, though we had received the sad news regarding the passing on of BMAF’s Maurice Doogan who will be sadly missed by MMAC members who may remember him for his lengthy, but ever helpful, pre-event emails. A tribute to Maurice can be read on the BMAF website at Maurice Doogan. September 1939-April 2021 – BMAF – British Masters Athletic Federation.

We have many familiar faces retaining previous roles, and also a couple moving to new, plus new faces elected to the committee for which we are most appreciative. We are going forward positively with fingers-crossed that 2021 will see ‘live’ competition back on the schedule again – this is the premise at the moment with dates in the diary (the fixtures page will be updated shortly) to look forward to.

We have the facility at Nuneaton booked for the MMAC Track & Field Championships on 6 June and also for our 50th Anniversary celebration on 12th September – starting with the Nuneaton 10k as this year’s MMAC 10k Championships – with the track & field at our disposal there should be something for everybody – save the date!

We will post the AGM minutes up on the website in due course and we look forward to seeing many of your again in 2021.
