Hello Gloria. Judging by what i’ve witnessed this week you’ve more than recovered from this procedure. A pleasure meeting both you and David. Regards Gary and Barbara Stallard. Hope you had a safe journey home.
Hello Gloria, this is Jonathan from Martins Bank Archive. You may already know that you feature on our page for Birmingham Digbeth Branch, and in honour of the Olympics, we have also commemorated your early achievements on our Facebook page. It would be lovely to hear from you and to hear your memories of Martins Bank.
Gloria, I thought I was going down the same route in 2010, but ended up with bypass surgery in Feb 2011 instead. Being as fit as a cardiac condition would allow obviously helps recovery, but one mustn’t be too hasty. In my case two months to build up to lots of 4 mile walks and then walk/jog and then jog 5 miles. Next 8 months building up to half mara but nothing above 85% max heart rate. After 12 months finally ready to train and race hard. My brother has gone back to jogging quite soon (couple of weeks?) after having stents fitted, but doesn’t race. You might want to wear a HRM for a few months even if you haven’t previously.
