I went along to the third Park Run at Brueton Park, Solihull this morning to have a look at what goes on and to take a few photos. Brueton Park is a beautiful park and ideal for these relaxed, free, 5k runs that are intended for all ages and abilities. Over 50 runners took part beating the showers and all having a good time. Volunteers are sought after, so anyone willing to give up a few hours of their time are welcome. Please see the website at http://www.parkrun.org.uk/brueton/

The first female athlete to cross the line was Knowle and Dorridge Running Club’s Katie BANERJEE in a time of 20:07 posting an age grade score of 74.98%. | ||||||||||||||||

Your post certainly made me feel a little bit better than the one on runners world.
The event ran smoothly, I had arranged for one of the locals from Solihull Leisure Services to explain the route but then forgot to ask him (funnily enough he wasn’t jumping up & down to remind me!) & the results were relatviely easy to put together, thanks partly to the tedious ‘manual’ back up system.
This has the potential to be a very successful parkrun & one that i would look forward to actually running…
Once a local team of volunteers comes forward to take charge…

I am happy to help out this coming Saturday, without a committment to every week at this stage. As an ex timekeeper, I would be happy to perform this role so that you can have a run.

FYI Cannon Hill Launches soon, on the 28th of August & yes, as you mentioned Brueton needs Volunteers, desperately, as at present it’s been relying on a small amount of manpower from Solihull Leisure Services (3 people per event) & ‘volunteers’ co-ereced from the Cannon Hill crowd. NB: Last Saturday was the last event that Solihull Leisure Services were able to commit to supporting!
