As part of the 40th Anniversary Celebrations, John Walker, our Road/XC Secretary, is organising a ‘Torch Relay’ from our birthplace at Halesowen to Tamworth where we are holding our celebrations. John is hoping that the whole relay (not a race) can
be run in pairs for safety reasons and currently we are short of runners. The total distance will be in the region of 26 – 30 miles and will start at around 9.00 am from Halesowen and is aimed to finish with a lap of the track at Tamworth Athletics Stadium.
So, we are after volunteers to run to make this venture a success. Please contact John Walker on 07831592327 and leave a message if necessary stating the minimum distance you would like to run and John will contact you with all the details. Let’s make this venture, which is part of our celebrations, a total success….. contact John Walker NOW.
Please note that a late entry fee will apply after Wednesday 16th August. If you have been teetering on sending in an entry, then DO IT NOW. A full list of entries so far for MMAC members can be found at http://www.wilne.co.uk/mmac/mmac.html

Conducted a site visit yesterday with our Chair, Irene Nicholls; Derek Johnson, who is looking after officials and Phil Owen, announcer, meeting up with Nick Wilson, Manager of the venue. Everything looks on course and the venue promises to be ideal for our purposes. All we want is a good entry list and beautiful weather!
Less than 3 weeks to go to the closing date for entries to our Track & Field Championships. All the details you need are on the “Championships” page on this site. Entrants must be fully paid up members of Midland Masters AC; guests are welcome but will not qualify for medals.
This is a very important appeal for volunteers to help us at the National Masters Road Relays to be held at Sutton Park on Saturday, 12th May 2012.
Because the event clashes with the County Track & Field Championships we are desperately short of
Officials. We need timekeepers, recorders, funnel recorders and anyone who can help with the start and finish procedures. Anyone who feels they can help us out then please in the first instance contact Mike Wrenn on mike.wrenn@blueyonder.co.uk
I am also compiling a list of Marshals; any member interested in helping out here should please contact me on mmac.sec@blueyonder.co.uk
I currently have 15 places to fill spread between the two races.
If we cannot get the required number of people then the event will be in danger of being called off.
Please try to help if you can.
Tom Morris – MMAC Organising Committee
Well done to all the Midland Masters AC members who completed the London Marathon today. I will publish a full list if I can later this week.
Apologies for the slight delay in getting the results from yesterday’s relay’s up on the website. As some of you know, I have been taking the entries for the National Masters Relays in May and the closing date coincided with the weekend of our own relays. The upshot of this was that today the priority had to be processing the National online entries. However, I have now managed to get them uploaded on our dedicated page. The following link will take you straight there http://tinyurl.com/cqkksxg in a new window but for the idle click here…. Road Relays Results V2
