The MMAC championships are being held within the Wilne 10k on Sunday, 1st September 2013. Entries for the Open Race are filling up fast and it is highly likely the maximum entries will be reached well before the closing date. I urge all members who might be ‘thinking’ of entering to do so NOW. BMAF 5k Championships 2013

These championships took place yesterday, 16th June, at Horwich. A dedicated race just for these championships meant a small but very experienced field. MMAC were very well represented with 26 athletes finishing, 17 men and 9 women out of the 152 finishers.

Congratulations must go to our Gold Medalists in the various individual age categories, 5 in total, as follows:-

M40 Mark Johnson; M45 David Smith; M60 Mike Hager; M80 Brian Campbell

W60 Christine Kilkenny

In the team awards, MMAC came away with a total of 6 team medals, an excellent performance.

The Colin Simpson Memorial Handicap

Our annual handicap, now renamed The Colin Simpson Memorial Handicap in honour of our late Treasurer, takes place on the 3rd March within the Centurion Grand Prix Race Series. The closing date for entries is strictly the 21st February 2013. For all details and entry form, please go to http://tinyurl.com/6thbsz7 

Members who are already registered for the Centurion GP series MUST fill in and send off the entry form for the handicap with the reduced entry fee or the will NOT be included in the results.

Latest News

The Virgin London Marathon Club Entries have now been applied for and all our member’s applications for a place are in. I have received 11 applications, which were all allocated a number as they were received. Our President had this list of numbers and has arranged to draw them out in a particular order. He did not know names. As soon as I know how many entries we get then I can announce the lucky participants, this should be within the next 7 – 10 days.
