Just a reminder that the closing date for MMAC Cross Country Championships 2020 is this Wednesday, 8th Jan. The championship will be incorporated within the Derby Runner Midland Cross Country Champs at Prestwold Hall, Loughborough on Saturday 25th Jan, Details at Midland Cross Country Championships. There will be no extra charge on top of £9 to enter the Mid Champs through your UK club. 1st claim MMAC competitors will need to pay the fee of £9, please email grahamlamb@gmail.com.
It may be that M65+ will be able to run in the shorter 8k race, this is to be confirmed.
We hope to be able to award age winner medals on the day but awards to the top age related male and female team ( 3 in a team ) will be worked out later.
You must have paid /renewed your MMAC membership by 20th Jan to take part in the MMAC XC Champs!

Midland Masters emerged triumphant (pending verification of results) at England Athletics Masters Outdoor Inter Area Challenge at Coventry yesterday. Both the women and the men won their competitions giving us a win overall! Many congratulations and thanks to all of the athletes, our wonderful Team Manager Elaine, hard working officials officials and helpers who made this an enjoyable and successful event. Results to follow, some of the participants in the triumphant team, W50 relay team and a very happy Team Manager are pictured below:

A breezy warm day saw a number of Championship Best Performances set and a British Record for M60 javelin thrower, Kevin Murch.

The results of the recent MMAC 10 mile Championships (incorporated into the Burton 10) have now gone up on the website at 10 Mile Road 2019. Well done to all of the winners!

Many thanks to those who attended the 47th AGM of Midland Masters Athletic Club at Rosliston on Saturday – it was a well attended meeting and was great to see everyone!

Many thanks to all officials, helpers and competitors who attended the Colin Simpson Handicap Memorial run on Sunday 3rd Feb. It was a fine, if a little chilly, morning this year and we had 33 competitors and some excellent performances:
Sue Kneill-Boxley, of Cannock & Stafford AC, ran away with both the Colin Simpson trophy and the fastest female prize with an actual time of 33:52. Brothers Ian and Paul Cooper, of Centurion RC, came 2nd and 3rd in the handicap while Pauline Dable, of Kenilworth Runners, was the second lady and 4th overall. Fastest male was Brett Taylor in an actual time of 31:53.
