“John ‘Janis’ Gercs passed away peacefully at home on 24th October 2010 surrounded by his family after battling stomach cancer. He was 88 years old.
A staunch supporter of Rugby AC and later Rugby and Northampton for many years and an advocate of Veterans athletics. He held several British Age throwing records for older athletes during his athletic career despite his slight appearance.
His funeral Is on:-
Tuesday 9th November, 10.00 am
In Rugby, at St Marie’s R.C. Church,
Dunchurch Rd, (Near Rugby School)
The family say everyone is welcome to come and celebrate John’s (Janis) Life”
