MMAC Subscriptions 2011

Subscriptions are now due for 2011.

With less than a month to go before the new year, it’s a good idea to send off your renewal forms together with subs. Can I thank all members who have already sent in their renewals, it’s such a big help to get them in early and not all at once.

Make cheques payable to “MMAC”

You can get a renewal form from the “Annual Subscriptions” page on this blog.

  1. Tom,

I am fully in agreement with Martin Wilkinson regarding his suggestion about online renewal of subscriptions. Like Martin I find it a bit of a pain each year in not only in remembering that subs are due but the fact that I have to fill out a renewal form, find my cheque book, write a cheque, write the address on the envelope, stuff the envelope , put the stamp on and then walk down to the post box (although this latter activity perhaps helps aids our fitness!!)
The whole thing could me streamlined by:-
    1. Re-designing the existing site to give it a modern and user friendly look and to display planned events.
    2. Put membership online
    3. Get system to automatically send reminder emails on a monthly basis three months prior to subscription due date and thereafter until payment is made.
    4. Provide a secure area where members are able to login into to provide the following functions:
    a. Ability to view or change their details.
    b. Ability to renew their annual subscriptions (payment through PayPal/other payment system).
    c. Ability to enter race events (payment through PayPal/other payment system)).

I think such a system would greatly help both in streamlining the subscription procedure and giving the internet savvy users a much easier way of paying up! Naturally those who wish continue using cheque should be allowed to continue to do so. However, given the fact that the banks are keen to see the demise of cheques what will happen then??
